Vintage Edwardian Suffragette Pendant Necklace
Beautiful antique English Edwardian feminine Suffragette lavaliere necklace, circa early 1900s featuring peridot, pearls and amethyst gemstones. Worn by strong courageous women who stood together and fought for the right to vote in public elections the colors purple symbolized freedom and dignity, white symbolized purity, and green stood for hope of a new life. Delicate leaves hose the white pearls with the circle garland having peridot gemstones surrounding an amethyst. A circle represents unity, the absolute, perfection. Great craftsmanship and detail steeped in symbolism!
