A stunning vintage gold pique pendant necklace. The pique has two layers of a teardrop shape with a lustrous 9K gold and silver inlay that shimmers in any light. A pique ball hangs center to add an extra pop of excellence. Quite the unique gift idea! Excellent craftsmanship!
The technique for making pique, inlaying gold and silver into shell or ivory, was brought to England by the Huguenots when they were expelled from France in the late 17th Century. Pique jewelry blossomed in the late 1800's. All original superb pendant necklace!

Measurements: The pendant measures just shy of 1 inch wide and 2 1/4 inches tall with the bale. We've added a 17 inch gold filled chain for ease of wear.
Weight: 3.9 grams
Condition: Good with no chips or nicks to the pique which, when held to light shows a lovely mottled brown coloring.
