This exceptional Norwegian butterfly brooch by Hroar Prydz is crafted in sterling silver and adorned with exquisite guilloché enamel. The butterfly appears to float, its wings alive with luminous shades of orange, yellow, and soft light blue, accented with delicate black detailing. Set within a warm gold-vermeil sterling silver frame, the colors truly glow.
Hroar Prydz founded his workshop in 1891, and following his death in 1937, the firm was continued by Hans Myhre until its closure in 1965. Both historically significant and utterly charming, this delightful brooch is a beautiful example of vintage insect jewelry and masterful Scandinavian enamel work.
