Antique Victorian Austro Hungarian Opal Bracelet
This entrancing antique Victorian Austro Hungarian opal bracelet glows all around with a vibrant palette of pastel colored opals emanating fiery flashes of color. Set in a silver heavy filigree mounting accented with yellow enamel, it is Austro Hungarian in origin bearing touch marks on the tongue of the slide clasp. A splendidly radiant, one-of-a-kind adornment measuring 7" long and 1" wide in the front. Excellent condition with one opal having a tiny flake.
These are precious Opals from Dubník and come from the only opal mines in Europe. This is the oldest place in the world where this colourful gem was regularly mined back in the 1800s. They originated in the heart of the northern part of the Slanské vrchy Mountains. The colors are incredible and can not even begin to compare to the opals you see today.
