This charming large oval Victorian pique pendant necklace from the late 1800s features a delicate 9K rose gold cross nestled into a smooth brown and amber tortoiseshell. Hanging from a wide, hallmarked rose gold bale, the simple cross really pops! Pique, the art of inlaying gold and silver into shell, was introduced to England by the Huguenots in the late 17th century and flourished in the late 1800s.
