This exquisite antique love knot brooch pendant combines rich 14K yellow gold, colorful enamel, and a sparkling old mine cut diamond in a beautifully intricate design.
Three dimensional sections of textured gold curve and entwine to form a romantic shamrock-like motif. Blue and white enamel flowers and leaves decorate the half-moon circles, while a .10 carat old mine cut diamond provides a brilliant focal point at the center.
A clever flip bail at the back allows this versatile piece to be worn as either a brooch or a pendant. Although unsigned, the quality and distinctive design are consistent with the work of Krementz.
The curving circles of the lovers' knot were especially popular during the Victorian and Edwardian eras and symbolized enduring loyalty and love. That romantic symbolism makes this an especially meaningful piece for an anniversary, bridal gift, or someone very special.
A wonderful example of antique jewelry that combines symbolism, craftsmanship, and versatility—and a piece that can be worn and enjoyed in more than one way.
