An extraordinary antique Victorian Whitby Jet mourning locket necklace featuring an impressive extra-large carved locket suspended from a dramatic 50-inch faceted Whitby Jet guard chain. Richly detailed with ornate carving and a raised central monogram, this authentic Victorian piece carries remarkable presence, craftsmanship, and history.
The reverse has a glass-covered photo compartment containing a gentleman’s portrait framed by an elegant decorative border. The photograph may remain as part of the locket’s original story or easily be replaced with a cherished keepsake of your own.
The hand-knotted faceted Whitby Jet bead chain fastens with a traditional screw barrel clasp and slips easily from the oversized bail, allowing the necklace to be worn long, doubled, or separately for versatile Victorian styling.
