Charming and richly detailed, this antique Victorian Scottish pietra dura brooch is a wonderful example of traditional craftsmanship. Set in a sterling silver twisted braid frame, it features a striking mosaic of classic Scottish stones: golden moss agates from Burn Anne in Ayrshire, orange and mustard-speckled jaspers from the Campsie Fells in Stirlingshire, and softly pink banded agate from Fife. Each stone is flush-set and framed by sharply beveled black onyx, creating beautiful contrast and depth. The reverse reveals a support stone backing along with the original tubular hinge and C-clasp closure. A truly special and highly collectible Scottish brooch from the Victorian era.
