Victorian Swallow Engraved Sterling Bangle Bracelet
Gliding across the front of this wide antique Victorian sterling silver bracelet, an engraved swallow bird sets the theme for this English hallmarked bangle. Detailed leaf and vine design as well as a cross hatch pattern are all artfully chased across the front. Hailing from Birmingham, England, the bracelet was produced in 1882 by by James Fenton and is engraved on the back M.E. Anderson. A tongue slide clasp complete the piece.
Swallows mate for life and symbolized ones love and loyalty for their sweetheart when given as a gift. Swallows also represented wanting your loved one to return home safely. A wonderful sentiment!
