Silver Victorian Banded Agate Necklace
Beautiful antique Victorian Scottish banded agate teardrop necklace, rendered in sterling silver and produced in the 1870s. The central pendant bulls eye banded agate has white stripe around the outside with a cut out designed band wrapped border in sterling silver. Swaying below is a tear drop pendulum banded agate drop with rich colors of black, brown and white bands. Banded agate necklaces were so popular in Victorian England, that by around 1900, the mines that produced these stones were exhausted.
