Pair Antique Victorian Rose Gold Wedding Bracelets
Extraordinarily lovely matched pair of antique rose gold Victorian wedding bangle bracelets circa 1887. Each bangle displays a rose gold double band in the front with each arm ending in gold Etruscan granulation design caps. Curving spring loaded gold tubular bands cross over in the back. Very rare to find a matching set still together in exquisite condition with such a feminine delicate theme!
During Victorian times, a bracelet was given and worn when betrothed and the matching bangle worn after marriage. A sentimental and endearing tradition of love!
Each bracelet measures 6 inches on the inside at rest in the cost over position. The bangles can accommodate a slightly larger wrist as the arms are expandable. The tubular band tests as 12K gold with the front design gold filled. There is a small plaque on the back of one which is marked March 21, '87. Excellent condition with a shimmering patina to the rose gold and gold filled elements. There is no wear to note...a very well cared for antiquity!
