Georgian Antique 18K Gold Diamond Cross Ring Mourning
From the late Georgian early Victorian era, circa 1840s, comes this 18K yellow gold ring with a raised face having mine cut diamonds forming a cross. Set in black enamel, the cross is outlined in gold with each hand cut diamond sparkling from within. A garter buckle style engraved band shoulder connects to a smooth band. perhaps meant as a mourning ring or memento mori, this sentimental piece is glorious piece that has transcended time.

- Condition: The underside of the face of the ring has been reinforced with a matching gold band many years ago. The band has covered a portion of inscription which would have appeared directly under the face. Not noticeable when wearing.
