ON HOLD Fine Antique Banded Agate Fob Locket Pendant, C. 1850
Featuring a banded agate front, this antique pre Civil War era Victorian agate locket has a carnelian back and a hand painted tintype inside, circa 1850s. The pocket watch fob style gold filled locket has round bevel edged brown and white banded agate front with the back having rich red beveled carnelian gemstone.
The front agate is hinged on the side opening to reveal a tintype of a lady complete with jewelry and painted rose pink cheeks all behind a thick beveled glass. Quite thick and deep, the frame is engraved with forget me not flowers. The locket which is extremely well executed dates to the middle of the 1800s. A wonderful collectible sentimental antique treasure!
