Etruscan Antique Victorian Wedding Bracelet Pair, C 1870s
Lovely antique Victorian matched pair of antique wedding bracelets, circa 1870s. Each bangle displays a round globe ball covered with an Etruscan flower and leaf design which centers a scalloped edge element having a forget me not flower. Connecting to a rose gold tubular band, the side hinged bangles are closed with slide clasp. Throughout time, forget me not flowers have been the symbols of faithful love and memories. When they are given as a gift it is given with the hope the recipient will not forget the giver. A matching set in exquisite condition with such a feminine delicate theme!
During Victorian times, a bracelet was given and worn when betrothed and the matching bangle worn after marriage. A sentimental and endearing tradition of love!
