Stunning antique bog oak brooch! Handcarved bog oak bearing a lovely vine of shamrock three leaf clovers create this unique brooch with a detailed gilt metal harp to the center. Hailing from Ireland, bog oak is a fossilized wood and is usually carved. The designs can be found in Irish motifs, such as the shamrock and harp, but often castles are carved into pieces. Just as beautiful and wearable today as it was over 150 years ago!
