Antique Gutta Percha Brooch Victorian Mourning Jewelry
Simple and striking antique Victorian mourning brooch circa 1875, rendered in gutta percha, features a round curving branch with a cluster of black French jet beads. The jet forms a berry cluster with a thin curling vine over the branch. The three beads would have carried significance such as remembering three family members. An elongated pin and c-clasp close the piece. While it may be for mourning almost 150 years ago, it is a beautiful accessory for today's wardrobe.
