Antique Diamond Paste Swallow Brooch with Coral Drop
A delightful novelty brooch from the late Victorian to Edwardian time, circa 1890s, features a swallow with sparkling diamond paste and a dangling coral drop. Hand crafted in 935 silver, the winger swallow has a long pendant of natural salmon coral topped with a diamond paste accented top. A c-clasp and elongated pin complete the piece.
Swallows were a popular theme in Victorian sweetheart jewelry as they mate for life and therefore represented everlasting love. Such a wonderful sentiment and the perfect gift.
