This striking vintage Mexican silver bracelet comes from the renowned La Cucaracha workshop in Taxco, Mexico, celebrated for its bold, beautifully detailed silverwork.
Made from solid .980 silver, the bracelet features wide floral scrollwork panels with intricate cut-out detailing. The dimensional links are seamlessly joined together, creating a substantial yet beautifully fluid bracelet. The unusual closure is incorporated into the design, with the tail of the flower securing the bracelet.
At 1 1/2 inches wide and weighing 43.3 grams, this is a substantial piece with plenty of presence on the wrist.
La Cucaracha was founded by Fidel Figueroa and his wife and was active during the 1940s and 1950s. The workshop also served as the Taxco School of the Arts and became known for producing heavy, high-quality jewelry with intricate workmanship and distinctive mid-century modernist designs.
