A charming piece of Victorian history, this antique sterling silver compass began life in the 1880s as a watch fob and has since found a wonderful new direction as a unique pendant and good luck charm.

Made in Birmingham, England, by G.E. Walton, the compass is crafted in sterling silver with an unusual rounded form—one side concave and the other convex. Inside is a fully working compass with colorful red, gold, and black enamel directionals and a tiny blue enamel center pin. The piece is hallmarked and wonderfully preserved, with the craftsmanship and character you would expect from a Victorian-era jewel.

More than simply an interesting antique, a compass carries wonderful symbolism. It represents guidance, adventure, discovery, and finding your way—making this an especially meaningful piece to wear during a new chapter or journey in life.

Originally designed as a watch fob, its compact size makes it wonderfully wearable as a pendant. Wear it alone as a conversation-starting antique charm or layer it with other necklaces and pendants for a collected, personal look.

Materials: Sterling Silver
Measurements: The compass measures 1 1/8 inches tall. Note that the chain is not included.
Hallmarks: Lion passant for sterling, anchor for Birmingham, date letter l, GEW.
Weight: 6.1 grams
Condition: Very good, with a few scratches to the crystal, with the compass fully functioning.
