Rich in history and exceptional craftsmanship, this antique Victorian sterling silver brooch dates to circa 1890 and beautifully reflects the enduring appeal of Scottish jewelry. At its center is a genuine, fully tested Scottish Cairngorm citrine, a warm golden gemstone traditionally sourced from the Cairngorm Mountains of Scotland and treasured throughout the Victorian era.
The beautifully faceted 5.45 carat citrine is raised in a bezel setting within an engraved sterling silver quatrefoil motif. Brilliant cobalt blue and white enamel accents highlight the intricate design, while the surrounding circular frame is further adorned with matching enamel, creating a striking contrast against the silver.
The reverse retains its original tubular hinge and C-clasp, authentic details that speak to the brooch's late 19th-century craftsmanship.
Elegant and highly collectible, this brooch is a wonderful example of Victorian Scottish design. Whether worn as a statement piece or added to a curated antique jewelry collection, it offers timeless beauty and a fascinating connection to Scotland's rich jewelry-making heritage.
