Three natural purple amethyst gemstones create the quiet beauty of this antique Victorian brooch. Together, the rich purple stones total an impressive 25.5 carats, arranged diagonally within an open-back sterling silver frame.
Each amethyst is prong-set to allow light to enter from behind, bringing out the depth and shimmer of the saturated purple color. The elongated diagonal arrangement gives the brooch a graceful, streamlined appearance—beautiful pinned at the shoulder of a jacket, along a neckline, or on a favorite coat.
A tubular hinge and traditional C-clasp secure the brooch, completing its classic construction.

Condition: Very good, with the amethyst chip and nick free, and bearing natural inclusions. It had a gold wash over the sterling, but it has worn away over time.
