An extraordinary extra-large nineteenth-century Scottish Victorian brooch featuring magnificent bullseye banded agates set in sterling silver. Bold in scale and rich in character, this impressive piece beautifully reflects the craftsmanship and symbolism of traditional Scottish agate jewelry.
At the top, two large oval banded agates are bezel set side by side, each displaying striking natural concentric patterns that make bulls eye agates so highly prized. Suspended beneath them is a graceful V-shaped twisted sterling silver chain that adds dimension and movement to the design.
Dangling below is a faceted round agate drop, leading to a charming agate bell complete with a movable clanger at its center—an unusual and delightful detail that brings both motion and personality to the brooch.
The reverse retains its original nineteenth-century fittings, including a tubular hinge, elongated pin stem, and classic C-clasp closure.
