Large and impressive nineteenth-century super large antique Scottish banded agate Victorian brooch superbly rendered in a simple sterling silver frame. The domed oval stone has banded colors of honey, brown, white, gray, and black. Closed in the back with a c-clasp, tubular hinge, and elongated pin stem, the brooch would make a wonderful gift and is good for either the gentlemen or the ladies not to mention a great pendant suspended from a chain!!

These include metal smithing techniques, stones and stone settings, faceting styles and techniques, construction, wear, aesthetics, materials and more and placed within the context of jewelry history.  Each piece has been professionally examined and verbally appraised as well as being tested for metal content.  We do not provide a written appraisal but should you desire one, it can be purchased at an additional cost.

    In addition, please note that colored stones, pearls and other gemstones may have been treated to enhance color, stability or clarity. However, enhancements are not always detectable.
