Victorian Gold Earring Coach Covers Necklace
Authentic antique Victorian coach covers in 18K yellow gold are a rare and and hard to find! The Etruscan applied wirework accented round coach cover are suspended from fine chains. A long fine chain with natural pearls allows the double coach cover pendant to sway below. Victorian coach covers were popular in the era for several reasons. It was considered gauche to wear diamonds or other jewels during the day (hence you cover them), as well as hide the precious jewels from plain view as the ladies rode in coaches to protect them from being robbed. A spectacular piece of antique jewelry!
Materials: 18 karat gold, 14 karat gold chain
Gemstone: Natural pearls
Measurements: The pendant measures 2.5 inches tall with each coach cover measuring 13.3mm round. The 14K gold chain measures 24 inches

I believe the coach covers were added together to form the pendant to hide jewels within. They could be converted to earring coach covers quite easily but are spectacular as is.
