Beautiful and authentic all original Victorian chatelaine belt clip watch chain brooch from the mid 1850s. A large shell carved shell shaped clip is centered with a black gutta percha rose flower. Dangling from the base of the shield are hand carved links forming the chain and ending with a black enamels clip. The back of the clip has a large metal clip which would have been used to clip to a belt or vest pocket. The shell shows a rich brown with mottling. A unique and very rare piece of Victorian mourning jewelry for the collector!
Gemstone: Bone, Shell
Measurements: 16.5 inches long from the top of the shield to the bottom of the clip
